She's the queen of the poses and everyone and their dog is obsessed with that make up of hers lately so I thought why not jump on the bandwagon. Of course the main part of her makeup is the lips, whether you think she's had surgery or not it's undeniable they look plumped up. With that in mind I lined my lips and went crazy with the lipstick. I know Kylie seems to favour the matte look but to get the plump look I went for more of a glossy tone. As for the rest of the face, of course the skin had to be flawless, after all she is part of the Kardashian clan, this meant everything from primer right through to a heavy setting powder and of course the contour and highlight that goes with any Kardashian of Jenner based look. From looking at pictures Kylie's eyebrows are quite squared at the front so I tried to emulate that, I also went for a subtle warm tones shimmer across the eyes with a very thin line of black eyeliner and lashings of mascara to get long fluttery lashes.

Frozen Elsa Makeup Look:

I love love love this look! I First saw the film last year and have wanted to give this look a go since then. The make up on the face and lips is exactly the same as the Anna look I did yesterday so if you want to know more about that then take a look there. The only difference is in the eyes. It's all about the shimmer all over the eyes. Starting with a deep purple close to the lashes and fading out into a prettier bright pink. The fading is seamless in the character so I tried to go for that as much as possible. I know the picture quality isn't too great, I'm hoping to get a real camera soon. I hope you like the look though, please do let me know.

Frozen Anna Makeup Look:

Please do excuse the hair for this one, I'm aware it looks bloody awful. Nonetheless, here is my Anna from Frozen look. I'm sure some of you will remember I used to do a lot of Disney based looks but it's been a while. What better time than Blogmas to bring out some Winter based Disney looks.

Of course the skin is pale but sheer to let the freckles show through as both of these are key features of Anna's look throughout the film. There are also cool pink cheeks and very little contour. The lips are very natural just a nude with a little shimmer. The eyes are the main part of the look, for some reason I always thought of the character as having green eyeshadow on but after looking through pictures it turns out that there was more of a very faint golden brown shimmer across the eye with thick dark brown lashes surrounding the eye.

Katniss Everdeen; The Girl On Fire:

I'm completely and utterly obsessed with The Hunger Games saga, both books and films, I also think that the make up in Catching Fire was absolutely killer! I've always wanted to do this make up for a hell of a long time and with the release of Mockingjay Part 1 today couldn't be a better time!

This look is very golden and smoky. The base being packed with bronzer, gold toned blusher and gold shimmer as highlight. I also did a dark contour for the harsh look. The eyes are packed full of gold glitter and shimmer too. I also added grey smudged shadow along the outer corners of the eye, lastly I smudged black shadow along the upper and lower lash lines. Finished off with lashings and lashings of mascara for a more dramatic look. The lips were a mixture of a dark berry lipstick and a golden shimmery lipstick because I didn't own a single lipstick in the colour I was after.

Maleficent Halloween Makeup:

The film may have come out a very long time ago but ever since seeing it in the cinema I cannot stop thinking about the makeup. I had to at least try and replicate it.

 

This is how it ended up, personally I think I could have done better but I'm quite pleased. First thing's first was an extremely pale, matte base. With no flaws showing at all. As for the eyebrows mine are far thicker than Angelina Jolie's so there wasn't much I could do about that. I did however add in a high point like hers.

The contouring was the most time consuming.

I found starting gradually with a brown easiest then going back in with a smaller brush to add in the black making the contour far deeper and much more dramatic. The trick for getting the harsh line to it was to blend at the bottom but leave the top as sharp a line as you could. I found with the entire look actually that it was made up of harsh lines and contrasts. The pale skin compared to the lip, the sharp line of black on the tear duct with no blending, thin harsh brows e.t.c. I also contoured the nose with a black thin line.

The eyes were fairly easy in terms of shadow, I simply applied a nude colour to the lid then blended a darker brown through the crease. Make sure you don't blend down! Everything about this look appears to be pointed upwards, enhancing the lift to the face that the intense contour gives. The liner was simple too, a thin black line along the lashes then filling in the dear duct area and bringing it to a point, none of this you should find too difficult if you've got a well sharpened pencil.

Last of all the lips, a bright shiny red, but not too glossy was the key. You could go a little over your natural lip line if you wanted an Angelina style pout but I do have naturally quite big lips so I just filled mine in as they were.

Updating Your Makeup For Autumn:

Autumn is most certainly coming, and I'm so pleased about it! I love it when the weather gets colder, I love layering up my clothes, I love chunky knits and most of all I love the makeup!

When it comes to adding a bit of autumn to your makeup look, for me it's all about the warm purple tones through out! As well as a little red and brown. As you can see that's what I've gone for on the eyes and cheeks in particular. In terms of the lip I'm all about the matte when it comes to Autumn and this Revlon one in Wine Not is just perfect since it's a wine colour too which is another tone to lean towards come Autumn.

As for the makeup look over all everything gets a little heavier and a little higher coverage. The warm tones of Summer are still there but in less of an inner glow, tanned way and more of a cozy fallen leaves, been sat in front of a fire way. This achievable by going for purples etc. with a brown, orange or red undertone as opposed to blue's or greys.

Where to Apply Highlight:

Highlight is an important finishing touch when it comes to makeup, it's definitely become far more poplar of late too with a variety of different formulas from gels and to powders and liquid to solid stick form. 

As for where to put the product, of course everyone's face shape is different and it also depends on what kind of look that you're going for. In terms of an everyday face, however the main places you need to think abot is wherever the light will hit. The opposite of  what yo would be doing if you contoured.

Those would be along the top of the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, along the cupids bow of the lip and some people like to add a small amount to their forehead. Although if yo have naturally oily skin yo may want to skip that step. If your skin is extremely oily then chances are you can skip highlighting in general.

5 Minute 5 Product Face:

We've all been there. That mad rush to get ready when you've only got about 5 minutes. With that in mind I thought I'd give a 5 minute face a go and too add an extra challenge for myself I've limited myself to five products too. 

The Products:

- Concealer

- Eyeshadow 

-Bronzer

-Mascara

-Lipgloss

If you've not got long then a light base is your safest bet so instead of madly buffing at your face trying to blend in your foundation (which let's face it never cooperates when you're in a rush) just dab some concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes and your base is pretty much good to go.

In terms of eyeshadow I used a brown because that way I could do both my eyebrows as well as add some definition to my lids. If you're in a rush then two in one products are an absolute God-send. The same goes for bronzer since you could use it all over the face to warm up the complexion or to contour and add definition to the face.

Mascara is a total must for making us girls feel alive and any face of make-up will look bizarre without it so a few coats of it and you'll feel transformed making a huge difference to you if you've had to get ready in a rush. 

Lipgloss or balm is another nice finishing touch that will wake up your look, finish off your face nicely and all in all make you look much more put together than you are.

Quick & Easy Back to School Makeup Look:

Many of you will soon be heading off to school again so you'll probably be having to think about some more natural everyday looks that won't feel too heavy on all day. You'll probably want something quite bright and wakening since back to school usually means early mornings. With this in mind I put together this supernatural barely there make up look.

I popped some concealer under my eyes to cover up dark circles and on the little scar I have on my nose but that was it in terms of coverage. When I was at school I didn't like wearing foundation because it felt like it was heavy on my face and wearing it everyday for school would probably cause spots. To combat shine throughout the day though you may want to pack a little powder in your school bag. 

To awaken your face more you're going to want to put on a light peachy toned blush, start on the apples of your cheeks and spread it backwards towards your temples. Over the top off this add some highlight on the tops of your cheekbones and in the inner corners of your eyes. This will wake up your look instantly. That's all I did for the eye area apart from curling the lashes and applying mascara which will open up your eye hugely. I haven't applied anything to the lids or eyebrows. I find that when you're younger you usually don't have to fill in your brows as much and quite heavily filled in brows can make the face look quite harsh and aged. For the lips all you're going to need is some lip balm in the morning so it will sink in during the day.

40's Inspired Makeup

Ok, first of all yes I am wearing my boyfriend's T-shirt but let's look past that ;). I've been obsessed with the 40's era since I was very young and we started learning about WWII in school. Don't ask me why but it's really stuck with me and I find it so interesting. I also adore the make up hence this post, I've tried to stick to it as much as possible but I did go a little thicker with the eyeliner than most of the pictures I was looking at.

I started off with a nice pale base and powdered to make it matte. The eyebrows I saw in the pictures were pretty similar to mine a little rounded at the top and fairly full so I didn't do much different to my usual routine there, I put plenty of pink blush all over my cheeks with a very minimal amount of contouring under the cheek bone and a tiny bit of highlight. The eyeshadow was very simple just a light brown and then a darker brown through the crease. Then, of course it wouldn't be a 40's look without some winged liner, but mainly clean along the bottom of the line. Last but not least the pop of bright red along the lip. I love this look and I think I may try and push my confidence more and wear it out at the next opportunity. 

I sent this picture to my friends when I finished doing my make up and it was silly enough that I wanted to put it up here too!

Naturally Fuller Looking Lips:

My lips are naturally quite plump anyway but sometimes I like to make them look even bigger but not too fake. To do this I just use two simple steps:

I've started with a matte lipstick so that you can really see the difference through the steps.

To add a naturally plump look you want to make it look like the light is hitting the larger parts of your lips. To achieve this apply a clear (or a similar colour to you lipstick) gloss on the very top of the top lip and blend outwards along the top of the lip line. Also add some to the middle of the bottom lip and lightly blend out along the middle line too. This makes the lips look much fuller from every angle.

As a final touch apply some highlight to the cupids bow and some bronzer underneath the bottom lip. This makes the top lip look raised at the top and the bottom lip look bigger because it looks like the skin under the lip is further away than it actually is.

Floral Spring Green Makeup:

Today is one of those looks that happen when you look at something and get struck by inspiration, this time it's this stunning floral head band. It finally seems to be getting a little warmer so I thought it was time I did some fresh and bright looks. 

The base is very low coverage and fresh, because when it's sunny you don't want to be caked in heavy high coverage makeup. The eyebrows are much lighter than usual for me too because I always lean towards lighter brows in Summer. As for my cheeks I did little to no contouring because I feel like it looks a little harsh come Summer, and the blush is a fresh and glowy one. I didn't add any highlighting because of the amount of shimmer in the blush. I added a fresh pink lipstick to tie everything together and to match the pink of the headband.

The eyes are the main focus of the look. I used one of each colour in the headband. Starting in the inner corner I highlighted using a really bright shimmery yellow colour and really packed it on to make it last. The rest of the lid was a bright green which I stopped just before the crease, I blended it all out using a very bright pink colour. I added a thin line of black along the lashes to intensify them, and added lots of mascara to open up my eyes a bit in competition with the amount of product on them.

Warm Brown Smoky Eye (Using the Naked Palette):

I think the trick to any smoky eye look is to start small and with light colours then slowly but surely layer up and add depth. It will do you no good just slapping on loads of dark eyeshadow and hoping for the best. In this case I used al colours from the Naked palette because hopefully a good number of you will be able to follow along with it. 

I started with Sidecar all over the lid to the crease line and put on a good few layers until I was happy with the colour. Next I used Smog on the outer half blending very slightly farther out and higher up than before. I then did the same with Darkhorse but making sure I left enough room for each individual colour to be seen. As you go make sure to blend each colour into the next to make the colours look like they naturally graduate into each other. I also pulled Darkhorse down onto the lower lash line. Lastly I took a tiny bit of Creep on a really tiny eyeshadow brush and used it to add a little depth to the upper and lower lash line but very gently because I didn't want it to be noticable. When it comes to smoky eyes (and most eyeshadow looks for that matter) it really adds to the intensity of the look to repeat steps and keep going over things until you're happy with how it looks. To highlight I used Sin on the brow bone and in the inner corners of the eye.

As for the rest of the face I kept the warm theme going using a dewy light coverage foundation, bronzer, warm toned blushers and highlighting and a warm lipstick with a brown undertone.

FOTD: Jasmine (Aladdin) Makeup Tutorial:

Surprise, Surprise yet another Disney themed look. This time I have decided to become Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin. 

The first thing (as with all Disney Princesses) is a stunning flawless base. So, I used a high coverage foundation and concealer and set it all in place with powder to make sure it was really long lasting. Next came some contouring, nothing extreme but I still wanted it to be noticeable. Finally a very warm toned blush, because Jasmine is far more tanned than I am, and some highlighting to add some definition to the face.

The eyebrows and eyes came next and took up the most time. My eyebrows are brown and quite thin whereas in every picture I saw Jasmine's were extremely thick and jet black. Using a black powder I added as much thickness as I could and rounded off the fronts to stop them looking too harsh. Then, for the eyes, sticking to a good quality image I found I used a bright purple eye shadow up to the crease and used a warm toned natural colour to blend it up and out. Jasmine's eyes are lined with black all the way round with a great big wing and of course I couldn't leave it out because it just wouldn't be a Jasmine inspired look without it. This took me a fair few goes because my liner just wasn't cooperating! 

The lips are just a warm toned nude gloss, and that's all there is to it. Please let me know if you've tried this or any of my other Disney themed looks. I hope to do some more in the future.

FOTD: Meg (Hercules) Inspired Makeup:

Hercules has to be one of my all time favourite films and considering I have crazy curly hair and my favourite colour is purple how could I not create a look inspired by Meg?

From the pictures I saw she had a completely flawless base with very angular features. So I really packed on the foundation, concealer and powdered an awful lot over the top to make sure the base was really flawless and high coverage. I also contoured a lot more than usual to really add definition to my face making it look so much more angular. I added a really little amount of a rose toned blush just on the apples of my cheeks because the picture I looked at had a little pink tone in it.

The eyes were my favourite park, there was no highlighting or crease work involved it was just block light toned purple up to the crease and stopping there in a block line. The eyeliner was kind of strange to draw because there was literally a dot at the outer corner of the eye and then a line all the way around the eye completely darkly lining it along with very long thin eyebrows, which I couldn't create too well because mine are so naturally thick.

For the lips she hardly had any definition to them they were very rounded but very dark purple. I filled in the top of my lip to make them look rounded but with a deep purple colour.

FOTD: Pink and Brown Natural Valentines Look:

As you can see this is a very natural look, that I will probably be sporting this Valentine's day. I know it's not a lot of makeup but I personally think that on Valentine's day you wouldn't want to look too done up and over the top. 

I started off with a fresh natural looking base made up of a BB cream, light concealer, a very very light contour, a touch of blush and a little higlithing. The reason I was so light and gentle with all of is because, personally, I associate love and Valentine's with softness and smoothness which in terms of the face would mean no harsh lines or bright colours.

I wanted to go with a pink and brown eye because, again they're soft colours also I really like the way they blend together. So I started with a really light and shimmery pink, then went through the crease with another light shimmery colour, only this time it was a brown. I did a lot of blending to keep the look seamless then blended the same colours under the eyes and doing a little highlighting along the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eyes. The brows themselves are really gentle and natural too I just used a light brown powder and a clear gel to set them. I applied an extremely thin line of brown liner along the upper lash line and a brown mascara.

Last but not least a pretty nude lip, not much to say about that just nice and natural as with the rest of the look.

NOTD: Flowery Nails:

This is going to be another one of my really quick and easy nail tutorials that take no skill, today it's some simple little flowers. This should be something that's perfect for spring time because it's fresh and floral, especially with these colours but, of course, you can change the colours around to whatever you'd like them to be.

After painting your nails one block colour that you'd like the background to be. Take the colour you want the main petals of your flower to be and make random shaped blobs in random positions all over the nail, the random may seem strange now but it should make the flowers look more natural than if they were uniform shapes. 

Next you're going to want to take a thin little paintbrush and another petal colour, like this pastel pink and make small little swirls, again in random shapes and sizes, within the blobs that you made before. I find that it's best to do this when the bigger blobs are still a little damp because it means that the colours will blend together a little more making them look more like flowers.

If you're as inartistic and bad at nails as I am then you should now have something that looks a bit like this, but I'm sure your nails look much better than mine do. The last thing to do is add a little yellow centre to your nails, this can be done as easily as the other step just take the colour on a paintbrush and apply a little dot in the centre of the flower.
