This powder wasn't actually supposed to be used for a few months yet since I was still working through my old one, however on a recent (drunken I might add) night out it fell out of my bag and smashed into tiny little pieces. The silver lining to that heartbreaking moment was that when I got home this little beauty was there waiting to be opened up.

The packaging is beautiful, retro just my style and the way they've thought it all through is so clever too. The mirror is the size of the whole lid which means you don't have to worry about carrying a mirror around with you too.  

I love the POWder print on the product itself too. This is something I really like about the brand as a whole they always add little thoughtful details which make you smile and enjoy using it just that little bit more. It comes with a puff too which may not be ideal for all but for taking it out during the day this is a dream come true. 

The powder itself is beautiful. I've fallen well and truly in love with it already! It's a super fine powder which has just the right consistency to be lightly dusted over your face with a brush or packed on a little thicker with a puff. It seems to last almost all day so far although it's not been too hot and sunny lately so I'll have to update you as to how it deals with heat. It mattes out the face but not in a way where you look dead it allows some dewiness to shine through, but at the same time it's not so light that you're left constantly reapplying through out the day. 

At £12 it's not dirt cheap but hardly pricey either. If you're looking for a new powder I'd recommend giving this a go.

The Body Shop 3 for 2 Offer:

Who can resist an offer when it's on? Me either! I recently picked up a few bits and pieces in The Body Shop and thought why not show you now before it's too late for you to take advantage of the offer too? 

First up is a product that was raved about by bloggers for almost the entirety of 2014. The All-In-One InstaBlur, this gel formula claims to smooth the skin out as well as balance out any redness or uneven skin tone. I've only used it a few times so far and I have to say I find the consistency a strange one, it takes some real work to get into the skin although once it's sunk into the skin it really does smooth everything out wonderfully. I'll keep using it and let you guys know how it works out in terms of evening out skin tone.

I also picked up a new blusher, this is not only my first powder blusher in a long time but also my first makeup product from The Body Shop. I'm very happy with this blusher in terms of the product itself, the consistency is really smooth and I like the fact it's a build-able product as opposed to it being too intense too soon. I'll definitely be picking up more colours but as for this one in particular (Flushed) is stunning! A warm toned pink with a very very subtle golden shimmer running through it. Don't be scared off by the shimmer it's very subtle and adds nothing but a glow to the face. 

Last but not least I picked up the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, this was another very popular product last year and I tried out the cleansing butter from the range which had a very popular review. I thought it was high time I gave the other one a go too. I'm yet to try it out since I'm still finishing off a few other cleansers at the moment but I'll be sure to let you know how it works out.

My First YSL Treats:

Ridiculously expensive I know but hey a girl needs a treat every now and again doesn't she? That's how I'm justifying it at least. These two little gems are my first ever YSL purchases and I have to say I couldn't have been happier with the choices I made. Who could resist the shiny, luxury packaging alone? For as long as I've been reading blogs and watching videos I've countlessly seen beauty's bloggers and vloggers being drawn in like magpie's and despite having only owned these products for about a week I can certainly see why. 

First up it had to be YSL's Touche Eclat in Luminous Radiance. This was the only shade available but it works well for me anyway. It's a very subtle highlight so I can see why people also use it as a highlighting concealer. The formula is fairly thick but it blends well. I'm really loving this product for more of a natural highlight lately. It gives your skin a healthy looking glow from within as opposed to sitting on top of your face. I can definitely see myself getting much more use out of this product in the next coming months.

I also picked up a Rouge Volumpte Shine in 31 "Fuchisa Tourbillon". It's a much lighter pink than is coming up on camera but it's a bright and stunning pink nonetheless. The formula is glossy and creamy but not sticky. It's also very long lasting I've worn this on nights out and long commuting days with no need to reapply throughout the day. Also, even though I've said it before I'll say it again the packaging is just stunning. I'm not usually a fan of gold but it really draws me in, it's got that heavy luxury feel to it and a satisfying click (you all know what I mean)! I definitely want to pick up another colour or two over the next few months, although maybe after my next paycheck....

All in all however, these products are something I'd definitely say is worth a little splurge if you want to treat yourself.

Am I Kylie Jenner Yet?

She's the queen of the poses and everyone and their dog is obsessed with that make up of hers lately so I thought why not jump on the bandwagon. Of course the main part of her makeup is the lips, whether you think she's had surgery or not it's undeniable they look plumped up. With that in mind I lined my lips and went crazy with the lipstick. I know Kylie seems to favour the matte look but to get the plump look I went for more of a glossy tone. As for the rest of the face, of course the skin had to be flawless, after all she is part of the Kardashian clan, this meant everything from primer right through to a heavy setting powder and of course the contour and highlight that goes with any Kardashian of Jenner based look. From looking at pictures Kylie's eyebrows are quite squared at the front so I tried to emulate that, I also went for a subtle warm tones shimmer across the eyes with a very thin line of black eyeliner and lashings of mascara to get long fluttery lashes.

The Filming Face:

Some of you may already recognize this picture since it's currently the background of my Youtube channel. Yeah you heard right I finally took the plunge and filmed my first video. I wasn't planning on doing so at all. In fact what spurred me on most was the risk of wasting a great face of makeup! With that in mind why not milk this look even further by blogging about it too.

In my products to use in 2015 post (link here) I mentioned the Revlon lipstick in Wine Not that I was desperate to use up before it started getting too old. Well I'm ashamed to admit that today was the first day I used it since that post. As well as the lipstick as you can see it's an neutral base with pink shimmery cheeks and gold shimmery eyes and a nice winged liner. If you watch my video than you'll also know that the winged liner is from Topshop. As for what else I mentioned in my first video....

To Use in 2015:

I love my beauty products you guys know that, I'm also a huge shop-a-holic (you guys know that too), but with a lot of shopping comes a lot of hoarding and neglected beauty products. Every now and again I do a reshuffle of my beauty drawers and bring the older stuff to the top and try to get as much use out of them as possible before they need to go in the bin. With that in mind here are a few products I want to make the effort to use in 2015. 

Revlon lipstick in Wine Not. I love this lipstick and always have, but it's only now I'm getting brave enough to actually use it day to day.

Accessorize blusher in Bombshell, I raved about this blush all throughout Summer as I'm sure some of you remember. Now it's going to be getting warmer again I want to get as much use as is possible out of this because it's beginning to get old.

Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack is something I picked up in Summer. You get a lot more than you think you're buying with this product and it's taken me a long time to use it. It has a six month expiry though so I want to use this up so I wont be throwing money away.

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I love this foundation and it looks great on the skin but it's far far too pale for me. I may start using this as a base highlight because, again, I don't want to be throwing money away.

Last but not least is the Soap & Glory Mist You Madly body spritz, I've had this for well over a year now but it's still not been used up. I like a lot and luckily the smell hasn't gone with age but I never really travelled enough to take plastic bottles around with me instead of my usual glass perfumes, however now I'm going back and forth much more and it's really getting it's use.

Frozen Elsa Makeup Look:

I love love love this look! I First saw the film last year and have wanted to give this look a go since then. The make up on the face and lips is exactly the same as the Anna look I did yesterday so if you want to know more about that then take a look there. The only difference is in the eyes. It's all about the shimmer all over the eyes. Starting with a deep purple close to the lashes and fading out into a prettier bright pink. The fading is seamless in the character so I tried to go for that as much as possible. I know the picture quality isn't too great, I'm hoping to get a real camera soon. I hope you like the look though, please do let me know.

Frozen Anna Makeup Look:

Please do excuse the hair for this one, I'm aware it looks bloody awful. Nonetheless, here is my Anna from Frozen look. I'm sure some of you will remember I used to do a lot of Disney based looks but it's been a while. What better time than Blogmas to bring out some Winter based Disney looks.

Of course the skin is pale but sheer to let the freckles show through as both of these are key features of Anna's look throughout the film. There are also cool pink cheeks and very little contour. The lips are very natural just a nude with a little shimmer. The eyes are the main part of the look, for some reason I always thought of the character as having green eyeshadow on but after looking through pictures it turns out that there was more of a very faint golden brown shimmer across the eye with thick dark brown lashes surrounding the eye.

Ice Blue Makeup:

Blue eye shadow is never something I've got on well with but come Winter I always try to give it a go. I really a a plan of a pale face with a pinky lip and cheek when going with a shimmery light blue eye. I much refer light shimmery blues in Winter. If I ever try a blue in Summer it's always a very bright blue. Let me know about what you try out in a certain season that you may not usually like. Cheap and Cheerful Christmas Red Lip:

Every girl needs something cheap and cheerful every now and again, I first bought this lipstick when I was seventeen and needed cheering up after the worlds worst haircut since then I've only really used it when blogging, but no more! I've decided that Christmas is the perfect season to break out the glossy red lip, however first I need to invest in a good red lip liner because this smudges everywhere! (although for £2.99 you can't complain). This is the Collection Volume Sensation Lipstick in 8 Cherry Pop, so if any of you know a good lip liner match then please do let me know. The aren't joking when they say volume sensation either, coming from a Spanish background I've been blessed with lips slightly bigger than most but when I use this product they become so much more plumped up and glossy looking.

Iced Pink Makeup:

This probably isn't my most wearable of looks, it's far brighter in person than on camera so imagine it far more pink and intense. The base is extremely pale and the eyes, cheeks and lips are all extremely pale pink shimmer. Of course I probably wont be wearing this out because in all honesty the pink can make your eyes look sore also pink shimmer on the lips is not usually a good look, but I still really enjoyed putting it together and getting creative with make up. Katniss Everdeen; The Girl On Fire:

I'm completely and utterly obsessed with The Hunger Games saga, both books and films, I also think that the make up in Catching Fire was absolutely killer! I've always wanted to do this make up for a hell of a long time and with the release of Mockingjay Part 1 today couldn't be a better time!

This look is very golden and smoky. The base being packed with bronzer, gold toned blusher and gold shimmer as highlight. I also did a dark contour for the harsh look. The eyes are packed full of gold glitter and shimmer too. I also added grey smudged shadow along the outer corners of the eye, lastly I smudged black shadow along the upper and lower lash lines. Finished off with lashings and lashings of mascara for a more dramatic look. The lips were a mixture of a dark berry lipstick and a golden shimmery lipstick because I didn't own a single lipstick in the colour I was after.

Filling the Gaps in my Makeup/ Makeup Wishlist:

Since I cleared out all of my make up I've been able to see where the gaps are and what I've got room to treat myself with. With that in mind this post is what I've been scrolling through the online shops for and drooling over most lately.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick - 107 

I can't remember a time when youtubers and bloggers weren't raving about these lipsticks and this shade in particular. With it coming up to the winter months where a nice dark lip is more wearable this is right up there on my wishlist, and nice and cheap compared to most of the other products I covet lately.

Rimmel Apocalips

Another cheaper product I've had my eyes on for a while now but also didn't realise I had any of was lip lacquers. I think I'd rather get some pinky colours with these and wait for Summer. Nonetheless because they're a gap in my collection I wan't feel too guilty when I do use them!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I wanted the Naked 2 when that came out but saw that it was actually fairly similar to the first which I already had so when the 3 came out and it was all pinky purpley hues I thought now there are some colours I love and don't have. I definitely want to pick this up at some point in the future.

Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner

This is another thing I have never owned, as I'm allergic to liquid liner gel is something I've been a little dubious about trying just in case it has the same affect and I have to walk around with great big swollen eyes, but I'm going to brave it and give them ago. If it causes an bad reaction then at least I'll know and if it doesn't then there's a whole new world of eye liner I can explore!

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel

This seems to be a love hate product and I'm curious as to whether I'd love or hate it, again I'll probably think more about purchasing it come Summer time. A cream bronzer is something I've never owned so to try it out is something I'm definitely interested in.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

I've never used anything from Hourglass, and this is something that many bloggers love to talk about. I also really love highlighters and a dewy, healthy face so even though this palette is really expensive it's something I would love to own one day.

Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette

Pretty much the exact same thing goes for this product, I'd love to have it one day but the price holds me back. I go through real phases with blusher sometimes I use them everyday and others they go untouched for weeks. I own almost nothing but cream blushes these days so some nice powder ones would be a nice addition to my collection.

My Cleared Out Makeup Collection & Storage:

Not long a go I cleaned out all of my make up and threw away ALOT, that was clearly well past it's best. With that in mind I thought I could now show you my updated make up collection. I know it's really nothing impressive especially compared to if it were stored beautifully in Muji drawers or something like that, but I like the way it works for the amount of make up that I have at the moment. These little separators are from Ikea, although I think they've been discontinued. Usually they sit in one of my drawers but sadly with it getting darker much faster lately when I tried to photograph that it just looked dark and sad. 

In the largest compartment on the left sits all of my eye make up. My palettes sit in size order, then tucked into the side are all of the single eye shadow's and mini palettes that I have. Hidden away in the right corner as you can see I have eyelash glue and and eye primers. Then moving down from there are my mascaras and then down from there into the left corner are my eye liner's both coloured and black.

The other two compartment's are two of the same size. The top one is all of my base products. All along the left are foundations of various shades and finishes and my primer of the moment. Then all of the other products are finishing powders, contour powders, blushes and highlights. As you can probably tell base products are my favourite to buy and try out which is why this box was totally overflowing  before I sorted it out. In the left hand corner I have my concealers. I like to keep them stood up so I can always see roughly how much is left of them. 

My last compartment is dedicated to lips. As you can see I have no lip liners, which is something I'd like to change. What I do have is all of my lipsticks along the right upper side of the box, with the tints along the bottom. I wanted to be able to line up my lipsticks in the same way I've done my concealers but I didn't have enough of them to keep them stood up so I've got them all laid down along the bottom. I don't really think this is such a bad thing though as at least I can now see all of the colours.

Seventeen Flawless Poreless Primer Review:

I thought it was high time I reviewed this product since it's now sitting in my empties collection box having been completely used up. When I first started using this I have to say I really wasn't a fan, I thought the texture was too hard and took far too long to get over the face. The about halfway through the product I started using it with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and fell totally in love with it. 

When I used it with the brush it smoothed everything over my skin so much easier, and I really felt as though it helped my pores look smaller. As a base for foundation with the right amount of buffing I didn't have to sit around waiting for the product to sink in before I could start applying my make up. I also found that when I began to use the Buffing Brush that my foundation lasted all day and I really mean all day, with no patching or sinking in and disappearing. 

All in all I'd say that this is an amazing primer to get if you have a buffing brush because it really doesn't work well with fingers at all! Now I know that I would 100% buy this again and I have to say I'm less of a fan of the primer I'm currently using as it's really nothing compared to this one.

Maleficent Halloween Makeup:

The film may have come out a very long time ago but ever since seeing it in the cinema I cannot stop thinking about the makeup. I had to at least try and replicate it.

 

This is how it ended up, personally I think I could have done better but I'm quite pleased. First thing's first was an extremely pale, matte base. With no flaws showing at all. As for the eyebrows mine are far thicker than Angelina Jolie's so there wasn't much I could do about that. I did however add in a high point like hers.

The contouring was the most time consuming.

I found starting gradually with a brown easiest then going back in with a smaller brush to add in the black making the contour far deeper and much more dramatic. The trick for getting the harsh line to it was to blend at the bottom but leave the top as sharp a line as you could. I found with the entire look actually that it was made up of harsh lines and contrasts. The pale skin compared to the lip, the sharp line of black on the tear duct with no blending, thin harsh brows e.t.c. I also contoured the nose with a black thin line.

The eyes were fairly easy in terms of shadow, I simply applied a nude colour to the lid then blended a darker brown through the crease. Make sure you don't blend down! Everything about this look appears to be pointed upwards, enhancing the lift to the face that the intense contour gives. The liner was simple too, a thin black line along the lashes then filling in the dear duct area and bringing it to a point, none of this you should find too difficult if you've got a well sharpened pencil.

Last of all the lips, a bright shiny red, but not too glossy was the key. You could go a little over your natural lip line if you wanted an Angelina style pout but I do have naturally quite big lips so I just filled mine in as they were.

Review: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick:

This was one of my first ever high end lipsticks, in fact I'm fairly sure it was my first. It was an anniversary present, which if you want to you can read more about here. As you can tell by the date of that post this review has been a long time coming.

I have the colour Native, although I've had my eye on some of the others for quite a while now I have to say. The colour is very similar to a baby pink but it has a warmer undertone to it so I don't look to washed out when I wear it. I like that I can wear this whenever I want to as it goes with almost all makeup looks both natural and fairly done up. The packaging is beautiful too. I like the metal look and the fact the logo is fairly small and minimalist. I also really like the colour that the purple of the inner packaging.

As for the formula, it's fairly creamy with a subtle shine to it. It does move around a little however this isn't too much of an issue I feel as I've never had it smudge onto my face. In terms of longevity I find that it can last a fair few hours, you may have to bring along with you in yor handbag if yo want to be on the safe side.

Revlon 3 for 2 Offer:

Once again the sales have drawn me in. This time I've justified myself by saying I needed at least two of the items and so why not get them now whilst I'd get an extra free product?

The first product I picked up is the Photoready  Perfecting Primer.  I needed a new primer since I've more than hit pan on the product I've been using before. That's all I really have to say in terms of this product since I've not opened any of them yet because I want to keep them new until I really have to open them so they don't start going out of date.

I also bought the corresponding Photoready foundation. This is something I've been wanting to try for quite a while now having heard nothing but good things about it. I've gone for the colour Vanilla here and so far I'm pretty sure it'll be a good match but as I said before I've not opened it to check yet. 

Lastly, I picked up a  cream blush in Charmed Enchantment. I think this will be a beautiful Autumn winter colour, it's much darker in person than it shows on the picture, more of a berry tone. I've been getting really into cream blush lately too so I've added to my collection.
